Since 2015, the year of Susana Rinaldi’s memorable concert at Teatro Cervantes, two days of tango have been held annually at Teatro Echegaray, always with the same success.
Over the years, these two brilliant evenings of tango have presented the genre’s three main forms of expression, namely music, song and dance as a performing art.
This year the group Proyecto Tamgú consists of a quintet and presents 'Todo tango: Gardel-Troilo-Piazzolla', with arrangements taken from Anibla Troilo’s original work and specially sent for this concert by the family of the great bandoneon player and composer. The group, which is well known in Spain, will also perform works by Astor Piazzolla for the first time.
The singers for this challenging programme will be Osvaldo Jiménez, known and admired by the audience of Teatro Echegaray, and Valeria Hernández, who stood out at the last Melilla Tango Summit.
The dance couple formed by Rebeca Núñez and Mariano Otero exhibits in Spain the highest level of the artistic and creative nature of tango dancing as a performing art.
